American automakers are falling asleep behing the wheel

American automaking moguls are experiencing slow sales. First Ford and GM underwent plant shutdowns and job cuts, but now Chrysler is in the same predicament. The reason for the devastating lag in sales for these automakers is simple. As gas prices continue to rise, Americans look to invest in more feul efficient automobiles. A steady decline in sales of SUVs and trucks was an imediate result. The car companies relied too heavily and for too long on Americans' desire for large trucks and SUVs. Asia-based automakers pose for stiff competition for American automakers. The asian cars offer smaller, more fuel efficient cars, wich prove to be more practical investments for consumers. Chrysler, as well as Ford, and GM made the mistake of mainly offering SUV's and Trucks to the public. The companies will need to offer smaller and more fuel efficient cars in order to supply the public with recent market trends and realities. Vehicles need better gas mileage and less size to meet the needs of consumers.

Apple versus MIcrosoft... In the battle of the tunes

There are a few differences between the Apple ipods, and Microsoft Zunes. Appearance is one obvious difference between the two. The ipod offers enthusiastic and popular candy colored schemes which attract the attention of younger more upbeat consumers. The Zune is available in a more sophisticated brown. The zune will also feature a larger screen, smoother, and sleeker looks. There are a couple of features inside of the Zune that not only distinguish it from the ipod, but also from Microsoft's own typical downloading formats. The Zune will offer wireless connectivity through shared files with a very limited lifespan. Another crucial difference that Zune offers is that it will allow hooking into a specific download store for purchases while offering support for unprotected Windows Media Audio (WMA), MP3 and AAC files. I believe that these differences will give the Zune the edge that will be necessary to outsell ipods. Consumers will leap at the opportunity to explore other options besides investing in ipods. This battle of the media players will be an exciting one to watch unfold.

So much to do, yet so little time...

In rating my time management skills, I give myeself a 6. I recieved this mediocre rating because I have mastered the basics in time management, yet lack in some key areas in the subject. I am good at limiting the distractions when I am attempting to complete a task. I ignore cell phone, and retreat to the quiet privacy of my bedroom when trying to get something done. However I often become overwhelmed when my "to do" list begins to grow, and as a result I often allow my list to become unorganized. I am in the process of becoming more organized when trying to juggle several tasks so that I can accomplish more in a limited amount of time. The most important thing that I must balance in my life is school. I am in school for more than thirty hours a week, and it is definately takes up a large block of my time each day. Work is another area that requires large amounts of my time, because I am at work twenty hours a week. I also balance family, personal, and friend time where ever I can fit in those areas.

Plans of a new teen hangout in development?

If I were to cash in on the teen market, I would definately focus on developing a teen club or teen hangout spot. As a suburban dweller, and social teen, I am finding that teens are running out of things to do in our spare time. Sure the mall and movies are great places to hang out, however the same weekly routine is quickly becoming boring. And we all are aware what happens when teenagers run out of things to do, they roam the streets, ultimately getting themselves into trouble. A dance club, exclusively developed for teens would add some variety to the weekly schedule. If the club markets teens, it can focus on including different varieties of music and dance. For example the club can have hip hop night on fridays, rock on saturdays, and pop on sunday nights. Teens will flock to the dance clubs to mix up their usual weekly plans of going to the malls or movies.
